Why are the poor's of india becoming more poor?
why are the poor’s of India are becoming more poor?
:by sudhanshu meshram
There's no doubt about rising poverty in India, no need to be offended by this, we already know what’s true and what’s not. we have to be united to have a better understanding of our nation. understanding the real issues causing it and its root is a matter of priority. poverty in India has risen to 9.2%
First I want to clear a misunderstanding which people have regarding poverty. The majority of the people think that poverty is something that if the person has a very small amount of money he comes into poverty. but this thing is wrong. Poverty is one of the worst crises present in the world. when a person can’t even afford to eat that case comes under poverty. The current situation of India is so bad that small children aged 3-10 yrs are starving on the streets. fathers are fully torn from upside down from the crises.
So what are the factors that caused rapid growth in poverty? we will take a look one by one.
Pandemic
Now covid-19 didn’t damage the poorer's but the lockdown which was implemented internationally did. Now lockdown was an essential action that needed to be taken for the safety of every citizen but the fault here I am talking about is the execution of it. This full responsibility goes to the central government which didn’t set up debates and meetings before implementing the action. In simple terms, I mean lack of logic, The migrant laborers who were working on daily wages, the small tea sellers, shopkeepers. Who will pay them? where they will work? how will they feed their family? how will they pay rent? No responsibility was taken by the government.
We already got an overview from social media and news channels that the migrant laborers are walking 200 km’s barefoot. There were pregnant ladies and families with 2-3 yr old kids who were crying badly because of injuries on their feet from those walks.
I will simply say “ shameless act of government”. They want large numbers of votes from the people but when it comes to services they will hide like mice. We must appreciate Sonu Sood who is an Indian actor who supported 100’s of people to reach their villages safely. Even though he did not get any leading role in movies He became a protagonist in real life.
This is the fresh factor that took poverty to the next level. Even if one person's brain from the ruling party worked, they could save a thousand people. If someone criticizes them they put on an “ anti-national “ tag with them. This is reality I am not afraid to raise my voice against it.
Corruption
Now, this is Boss which commands every factor to raise poverty. Recently a study conducted by Oxfam, India’s Richest 1 % owns 40% of the nation's wealth. If you have knowledge about economics. You should’ve freaked out of your seat for a second. Who doesn’t know about corruption? Every single human being from child to old age man has a clear-cut idea of what that is. Have you ever wondered why corruption happens at such a high rate in India?
Let's discuss that here,
The causes of corruption in India include excessive regulations, complicated tax, and licensing systems, numerous government departments with opaque bureaucracy and discretionary powers, monopoly of government-controlled institutions on certain goods and services delivery. Proper law systems are Implemented by our constitutions but still, we can’t control corruption, some experts also say that corruption will never become less, it is something that will never stop until it completely demolishes the economy. And when the economy will be in such a condition it can never get back on its own, it will end up destroying our beautiful country forever.
In my terms, if a kid asks me “ what is corruption “
I say him, “ if a country is a life, then corruption is cancer”
Now I am asking all of you, How much money did you spend on getting a driver’s license?
Legally charges are 300-400 rupees, but we have to spend some more extra cash in getting some agent to complete our work in as little time as possible. Because if you do all the procedures legally. You will end up waiting all day but still, your work will not be finished yet and you will have to again take some visits to the RTO.
92% of the people had firsthand experience of paying bribes or peddling influence to get services performed in a public office. Taxes and bribes are common between state borders; Transparency International estimates that truckers annually pay ₹222 crores (US$31 million) in bribes.
So by looking at these figures how you would expect our economy to run well. We very well know GDP dropped down to -23% last year. India was so in debt that we had to sell our government companies like Bharat gas and airports to Adani. To make our economy stable and due to this economy, Crashdown government can't offer many seats and jobs which are counted in services. Cause of the lack of capital funds present. This practice indirectly leads us to Unemployment. The poor households and the middle class already suffer so much for a stable lifestyle for their family. We will never know the pain of a person after he completes 20 years of education and still doesn’t get a job.10 Lakh of people fight for getting a medical seat in government colleges even if I was one of them but they select few 100’s of them. What will the 9 lakhs 99 thousand and 900 students do?
Compromise and choose some other career option or their life is worthless? I will state some brief facts on education in the next subtopic.
Costly education and lack of awareness.
Why is education so costly in India? when it comes to private schools in today's time. They are charging 2 lakhs per year from students. Some middle-class families whose incomes are 1 lakh and below, will they be able to educate their children and make them successful? This simple concept explains the whole scenario of our condition in today's era and also the main topic this article is about. Speaking of private medical colleges they demand 10 crores in a donation. A man who hardly has 10 thousand rupees with him, how will he make his daughter doctor? Similar conditions are observed in engineering colleges too.
90% of middle-class households need to take a loan for further education of their kids. Which will stick with their lives forever. Their skin will be covered with wrinkles all over by paying the interest.
When we talk about European countries and their education policies which are so genuine and real good. The fees are almost negligible with high quality of education. They even offer a free scheme for foreign students coming to that university for studies. This is called real Education service because they know how much to invest in the educational sector. They have a sense of awareness that this youth is the one that will lead our country to achieve greater heights. and This awareness is what lacks in Indians and their government.
Now take a look at Japan. We very well know from pearl harbor how destruction the country faced and even facing now. No matter the bombs, regular earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides. Still, the backbone of japan’s economy is so stable it doesn't even show any signs of crashes over many years.
For Japanese people, the country comes first. People living in there work like hell. They don't care if they had lunch or sleep. Why do they do such hard work? The answer is awareness. They are fully aware of what they are here for. Why the government-appointed them. The immense contributions from the individual level to corporates made Japan reach the peak of the world. We have a clear picture of how Indian government offices work. If they are banks, their dialogue is “come after lunchtime” if they are aadhar card(unique identity card) offices they say “ server is down come tomorrow”.
These are the mega factors that are adding heights to poverty. In my opinion, if the awareness in one’s comes from the individual level. It can create a vast difference from the consequences we are facing now.
But No matter how much the farmers and soldiers sacrifice for us. Their mindsets will never change. What we think is “ how I am gonna benefit from this” not like “ how we are gonna benefit from this”
When you understood the difference in the phrase” i “ and "we" congratulations you successfully got to know a glimpse of my ideology. Thanks for giving time and reading the article.
